Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey's....

Man, South Africa is a beautiful country... and you don't have to go far to appreciate it either...
These photo's of my children where taken about 2km from our house, and believe you me, as beautiful as it is, it's just as Serene. Vast fields of sugar cane, the wind whistling within, one very keen photographer (aka. moi) and my two gorgeous boys, a winning combination.

Spotted Bush Snake, Spotted....

Roaming around in the garden hunting a white headed gecko, the little snake didn't expect a five year old to ruin lunchtime.... As soon as he saw my son he tried to make a dash for it... Only to be caught by Billy and get snapped for 'blogging' purposes...
Spotted bush snakes are common in Natal and are -luckily for us- non venomous.
We let it go, at the Zimbali border after some well deserved 'ooh's and ahhh's'... and the funny site of Chantel sprinting to the safety of the house....haha...

It's Not just a 'game'....

Many people have asked me what I am passionate about, what makes me feel totally relaxed and where I consider my piece of gold in South Africa to be?

Among the hundreds if not thousands of little treasures in South Africa, I find Hluhluwe game reserve to be the one place I feel at peace with God and one with my country...
It's not just the peace and quiet that fills your spirit, it's the smell of Africa and the excitement of perhaps seeing something incredible. Hluhluwe is home to the big 5 and tons of other little creatures and thousands of birds... If your a true nature lover like me, you would also greatly appreciate the 'art' of the array of trees grown by soil-mothers and sculpted by elephants, giraffes and feathered friends. I go there as often as possible to sooth my soul and every visit, although too short for my liking, I see it differently. Completely as if God keeps changing this masterpiece while I'm sleeping.
So I must definitely say that the answer to all your questions as for where I find my 'home away from home'... is at the Hluhluwe game reserve.
